We have added an essential oil diffuser to our dental practice! There are many ways to incorporate essential oils into a dental practice and the benefits are wonderful.
The oil is naturally obtained by distillation and is purely from a flower or plant. Essential oils can be used many ways. We diffuse using a cold water diffuser. Cold water is important because it does not change the chemical makeup of the oil. Essential oils can be applied topically or mixed with a carrier oil to facilitate spreading them onto a greater surface area of the skin.
In our dental practice we use the oils for a calming or relaxing effect, or for an energizing or uplifting our mood. To calm we use Lavender and you can also inhale Bergamot, Frankincense or a combination. To uplift or energize we use peppermint, lemon, eucalyptus or a combination of Bergamot, orange and lemon oils. If you are sleepy or if your sinuses are stuffed up, put a drop of peppermint oil in your hands and rub together, inhale deeply.
During a dental procedure we can add a drop of oil to your patient bib to help during a stressful procedure. You can also put a drop in your hands, rub together and inhale.
Enjoy the health benefits of essential oils.
